Save the bookshelves

I woke up today, as happy as a clam, thinking that I'll get some serious reading done now that the weekend finally came. I stretched and bounded off the bed--only to step on a pile of books and accidentally kick the iPad 2 near it. Startled, I righted myself and looked around--to realize in horror that my bookshelves are now filled to the brim, and books litter my desk, floor, and chairs.

Instead of ignoring the mess, I decided to right the wrongs and cover the books that most needed tender loving care. I came up with a pile of to-cover books, only to realize that I don't have anywhere to put them in. So while it tears my heart, I abandoned the covering mission and decided which books will be kept, and which ones will be discarded. I stood in front of my bookshelves and passed judgement on my books and came up with a fat pile. But then I realized that the job is half-done, as I have been neglecting to clean up the bookshelves I hid from sight.

Now my to-be-sold pile grew to at least two dozens, with Ann Brashares's The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants bagging the first series to be discarded. It is shortly joined by The Secret Series by Pseudonymous Bosch, and a couple of books by Diana Wynne Jones. I loved these titles, I really did, but I have to let them go to make room for future purchases.
